TUCSON, Ariz. – Grammy-nominated R&B group, The Spinners, is stopping in Southern Arizona on Friday, April 14, 2017 for a show at Desert Diamond Casino’s Diamond Center. Reserved tickets start at $20 and go on sale Saturday, Feb. 18 at 10am through Star Tickets and the Rewards Center. Show at 8pm; doors open at 7pm. A pre-concert happy hour is scheduled prior to the show from 5:30pm to 7:30pm in the Plaza.

Dating back to the 1970s, The Spinners has been a mainstay on the R&B charts. Starting with the1972 album, Spinners, the group would dominate the decade with hits such as “Mighty Love,” “Then Came You,” and “I’ll Be Around.” The group transitioned to the 1980s with the chart-topping hit—“Working My Way Back to You”—resulting in The Spinners’ 12th gold record. Follow-up albums Love Trippin’ and Labor of Love produced even more hits, including “The Cupid Medley” and “Yesterday Once More.”

The Spinners has received a total of six Grammy nominations and was inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 1999, in addition to being awarded the Rhythm and Blues Foundation Award. The group has performed for multiple United States presidents, received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and has appeared on numerous television specials paying tribute to the 1970s. The group continues to tour worldwide to sold-out venues.
