AMERICA AT THE DIAMOND CENTER ON AUG. 26

TUCSON, Ariz. – On Saturday, Sept. 23, Desert Diamond Casinos & Entertainment welcomes America back to the Diamond Center. Tickets start at $25 and go on sale Saturday, June 17, 2017 through Star Tickets and at Desert Diamond Casino’s Rewards Center. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m.

America formed in the late 1960s and quickly reached the top of the charts with their signature song “A Horse With No Name.” Their best-known tunes, which also include “Don’t Cross The River,” “Tin Man,” “Lonely People,” and “Sister Golden Hair,” were cornerstones of 1970s Top 40 and FM rock radio. In 1972, America was rewarded for their hits by winning the Grammy for Best New Artist. Their albums—six certified gold and/or platinum, with their first greatest hits collection, History, hitting four plus million in sales—displayed a fuller range of the group’s talents than did their singles. Their material encompassed an ambitious artistic swath, from effects-laden rockers to oddball medleys to soul-bearing ballads.

In 1982, America once again hit it big with their smash single, “You Can Do Magic.” America experienced growth as singers, songwriters and musicians during this period, which has continued into the present day as illustrated by landmark releases such as 2000’s “Highway” 3-disc box set, 2002’s “Holiday Harmony”, an album comprised of seasonal classics and live showcases, 2007’s “Here & Now,” 2009’s “Live In Concert: Wildwood Springs,” and 2011’s “Back Pages.”
